DIY Beauty Balm

Okay, it’s not exactly a “balm”, but I like the alliteration 😊 I have used this mixture for years and love the moisturizing power! I apply it to my face morning and evening, and my body as well. Coconut oil is a key ingredient and also acts a low SPF, essential oils of your choice give off a lovely scent, and aloe works to heal, soothe, and hydrate your skin.

I hope you will love this as much as I do!

DIY Beauty Balm

4 oz jar (amber or blue-tinted will protect the essential oils)

6 Tbsp organic, virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil

6 Tbsp organic aloe gel*

12 drops Frankinscence essential oil

12 drops Helichrysum essential oil

6 drops Geranium essential oil

6 drops French Lavender essential oil**

Mini food processor (optional)

Combine all ingredients in the mini processor and blend until well combined. Alternatively, you can add all ingredients to a medium-sized glass bowl and mix together with a fork until well combined. Put into jar, storing away from heat. That’s it!

*A note on the aloe - Look for a clean, reputable brand with minimal ingredients. Most aloe on the market today is from dried and powdered aloe and is mixed with undesireable substances and artificial coloring so that it really isn’t aloe at all. You want organic gel that is from the leaf with very minimal preservative content.

**This is the blend I use most often, but there is no limit to the combinations you could try! Some essential oils that are known for their anti-aging benefits are Myrhh, Jasmine, Rose, Sandalwood and Carrot seed.
