DIY Handy Sanitizer

This is one of my all-time favorite DIY potions!  Everyone in my family uses it, kept in a purse, backpack, lunchbox or desk.  Not only does it smell good while cleaning and moisturizing your hands, it also helps protect the micro-biome by avoiding harsh chemicals found in conventional sanitizers and works with the body to boost immunity and help keep away the nasties. It can also be used for “emergency” sanitizing while out and about, such as when your water bottle falls out of the cup holder and the nozzle touches the dirty floor of your car. Or you drop your cell phone in a muddy parking lot. Or your child uses their iPad to cover their sneeze instead of their sleeve.  Eww.

This little formula is very “handy” to have around 😊

DIY Handy Sanitizer

2 oz spray bottle (amber or blue-tinted)

80 proof vodka

¼ to ½ tsp organic aloe gel

A few drops (or up to ¼  tsp) Dr Bonners baby mild liquid soap

Distilled water

10 - 12 drops essential oils of choice **

First, drop oils into bottle. Add vodka , about one once, until bottle is halfway full. Squeeze in a few drops, or pour the measured amount, of the liquid soap.  Add aloe vera gel.  Fill remainder of bottle with distilled water. Replace the spray cap and shake well. Sanitizer is ready to use! Be sure to give it a good shake before each use to incorporate the oils.

** Some of my favorite oils for this spray-

       Lavender and Tea Tree

       Grapefruit and Bergamot

       Frankincense, lemon and lavender
