DIY All-Purpose Cleaner

Save money and avoid harmful chemicals by making your own all-purpose cleaner!  I use this for everything from bathroom sinks to fresh vegetables.  Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and essential oils add their own antibacterial power as well as a pleasing scent.

DIY All-purpose cleaner

16 oz spray bottle

1 ¼ c organic white vinegar

¾ c distilled water

20-30 drops essential oils of choice**

Drop desired amounts of essential oils in bottom of bottle.  Pour vinegar in, using a funnel if needed.  Add distilled water.  Screw in spray nozzle and you cleaner is ready to use.  It’s that simple!  Be sure to give it a good shake before you use it so as to disperse the oils evenly.  (Essential oils do not dissolve in water) It’s best to keep the cleaner in a dark place or use an amber or blue-tinted spray bottle to protect the integrity of the oils. You can find these bottles on Amazon or at stores such as Whole Foods or Fresh Thyme.

** Some combinations to try:

Citrus blend – Orange, Lime, Grapefruit, Bergamot

General Disinfectant  – Lemon, Tea Tree

Germ Killer – Frankincense, Clove, Lemon
